Downtown Tobermory Streetscape and Harbour Area Design

Northern Bruce Peninsula, Ontario

Project Overview

The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula engaged EDA to develop the Downtown Streetscape and Harbour Area Design project for Tobermory, a popular summer tourist destination. This project included the development of an overall vision, identification of strategic opportunities, investigation of vehicular circulation options and recommendations, as well as the development of three conceptual design options for the downtown and harbour area. The design options included a Modified Existing Condition Concept, a “Green” Village Concept, and a Maritime Village Square Concept.

This project included a community consultation process that focused on an initial listening session, a design workshop, and a final validation meeting to confirm that we captured what we heard throughout the process and incorporated it into the design options for the community.
