Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago
A feasibility study for a cultural theme park as a major centre-piece of Trinidad and Tobago’s Tourism Development Strategy was undertaken. The unique cultural diversity, inventiveness and fun-loving character of the people of Trinidad and Tobago provides the inspiration for this one-of-a-kind project. The park includes a Visitor Orientation Centre, major outdoor “Theatre by the Sea”, Cultural Village consisting of centres for the performing arts and carnivals, visual arts, craft and costumes, world religion and festivals, environment and ecology, history and settlement, sport and gastronomy, a Children’s Fun Park and International Gourmet Village and Bazaar. The waterfront site in Port of Spain takes full advantage of and integrates the use of water throughout the park as both a functional feature and amenity.
