Lesser Slave Lake River Development Plan

Slave Lake, Alberta

项目概况

Lesser Slave Lake is the largest recreational lake in Alberta and offers many high quality tourism amenities.  Lake access and boat mooring opportunities, however, are limited near the Town of Slave Lake.  Recognizing a need for area residents and the potential for tourism generation, the Town of Slave Lake and MD of Lesser Slave River initiated a study to review lake access/recreational potential of the mouth of the Lesser Slave River.  EDA Collaborative Inc. was retained to prepare a plan which would provide a vision and implementation strategy for this area.  Through a close working relationship with a Task Force and the general public, the final report addressed protection of historically significant sites, land use issues, public-private partnership opportunities, and project phasing guidelines. A conceptual design for marina development and other related recreational, residential, and commercial facilities was included to help generate interest in the area’s potential.
