EDA is excited to announce that the implementation of Phase 2 of the Regent Park Athletic Grounds has commenced. The development program for Phase 2 includes a soccer field / practice cricket pitch, basketball court, viewing platforms / spectator seating, social gathering spaces, and multi-use running track. Phase 1 construction was completed in December 2014 which included refurbishment of the existing ice rink, building upgrades and a pedestrian plaza.
The project included an extensive community and stakeholder engagement strategy, working closely with Toronto Community Housing Corporation, MLSE Foundation, The Daniels Corporation, City of Toronto, and local community members to develop the programming and design for the park.
