EDA receives 2014 Healthy Communities Honorable Mention

EDA is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Active Mobility / Complete Streets Honorable Mention at the 2014 International Making Cities Livable & Healthy Communities Conference in Portland, Oregon.

The design of the Centretown Streetscape Revitalization Strategy, in collaboration with the City of Cornwall, Centretown Committee and Heart of the City Committee, was the only project that was presented an award that had not yet been built.  This project was recognized due to the “thoughtful, innovative and fully integrated approach” that was taken by our team to create a livable city environment, such as the use of a woonerf where the main street intersects with the waterfront park.

The Revitalization Strategy blends economic development, organizational development, marketing and promotions, and beautification, utilizing a number of environmental and culturally significant design themes to develop “Linked Character Districts”.
